Documentation – Scroll Top and Bottom WordPress Plugin – Version 2.6

Version 2.6 has been created with some new features like scroll speed control, fadeIn and fadeOut animation on scrolling and all old features are still on it. Let us see all steps one by one.

Installation of Scroll top and bottom:

It's very easy as the other WordPress Plugin. Login to your site admin panel, Plugins > Add New. Now in the search box write 'scroll top and bottom' and hit search plugins. You will find this plugin on the first list. Now install it and then active. Plugin will activate with default settings. You can change setting any time. There are some options for you.

You can also install manually by uploading the plugin. First download plugins from WordPress directory. Now login your site as admin and from 'Plugins > Add New', choose 'upload'. Now browse and chose the downloaded file '' and Install Now.

Make sure that the WordPress function wp_head() and wp_footer() are included on your theme.

By default, plugin installed with the default settings. To change those, you need to go to setting page of the plugin. Steps are 'Settings> Scroll Top-Bottom' or go to Installed Plugins and choose settings from the plugins.

Choose Icon:

There are 12 set of icon and you can choose any of your choice from there.

Scroll Speed:

This section will specify how fast or slow the page will scroll. It's actually scroll duration and in Milli second unit. 1000=1s, so if you wish to set scroll time 1.5s, put 1500 on the field, if .5s put 500. Just make sure you put only number nothing else. It will tell jQuery to spend time on scrolling up or down of the page.

jQuery Enable - Disable:

Some site has jQuery installed from previous, in that case plugin will use that jQuery library and you should disable jQuery of the plugin as it will save your bandwidth.

Button Position:

Can I change button position? It's not in the option/setting page... Yes you can but then you have to change come code from style sheet of the plugin. Well, say you want to set the down button at the right top of the site and the up button right bottom of the site.

For this, open scroll-top-and-bottom/css/style.css file in an editor. Change     'right:66px;' into     'right:30px;' from the class 'scroll-to-top'(line 8) and change 'bottom:20px;' into 'top:20px;' from class 'scroll-to-bottom' (line 17). Now save and reload your site with a new browser (sometime for cache issue it may take time to effect).

Hope you will enjoy this version. If you found any bug, please inform me that I can fix and update.

  1. Hi Shariar,
thanks for this WordPress plugin. It works with my site very well. But I want to add other buttons. Could you please help regarding this issue? Should I have to hard code on the plugin? I think it may be what everyone else also like to get. It's better if you release the next update with that features. I will be waiting if so.
    Thanks in advance.

    1. Hi Roy,
Thanks for comment. Yes, now you have to code if you wish to add other button. And thanks again for the idea, hope very soon I will release the next version of Scroll Top and Bottom with custom button upload feature.
