Internet(GPRS/EDGE) Configuration of Robi for PC/Mobile

Aktel is now Robi and they also offer internet both for  prepaid paid and post paid users.  If you like to get the unlimited internet access   with robi, you need to buy a robi post paid sim. To get Monthly Unlimited Internet: Type A1 and send SMS to 8555 from your robi post paid connection and it will charge Tk 750 excluding VAT.  They also offer limited package for net user.

Now I am going to inform you how to configure Robi  internet connection for computer. We know, to use internet with GSM network we need to make an internet dialer. (If you don't know how to make an internet dialer please visit the page at create an internet dialer manually ). Use ISP Name  as Robi and the Dialer Number as *99***1#. You may also use nokia pc suite to connect to internet with your nokia phone.

For Mobile, you may get the auto settings through internet and the  link is http://gprs.robi.com.bd/ provided by  http://asp.mobilethink.net or sms to 8738. For details follow the instruction below...

SMS To 8738: 
a. For WAP Setting type:
wap <Handset name &model name> & send to 8738
[Example: wap nokia2700]

b. For MMS Setting type:
mms<Handset name &model name> & send to< 8738
[Example: mms nokia2700] 

c. For Internet Setting type:
web<Handset name &model name> & send to 8738
[Example: web nokia2700]
Standard SMS charge that is Taka 2.30 (including VAT) applicable.
If required use the PIN 1234 to save the settings in your handset.  

For your convenient we are also sending mannual settings.
Manual settings for GPRS:
In order to use GPRS to your connection, please enter the following settings on your phone:   

For GPRS Settings (WAP) :
Under the services menu -> connection settings -> enter the following info for GPRS.
Settings name/APN: wap, Homepage: http://robizone.mobi
Data bearer: GPRS, GPRS access point: WAP,
IP address: 192.168.023.007.
Proxy server: 192.168.023.007,
Port: 9028.
Keep the username and password blank.
Leave all other settings as default. 

For GPRS Settings (INTERNET) :
Under the services menu -> connection settings -> enter the following info for GPRS.
Settings name/APN: internet,
Homepage: http://robizone.mobi
Data bearer: GPRS,
GPRS access point: INTERNET,
IP address: 192.168.023.007.
Proxy server: 192.168.023.007,
Port: 9028.
Keep the username and password blank.
Leave all other settings as default.

If your phone is MMS compatible, then please program the following settings as well.
For MMS, the settings are as follows:
Connection settings ->
Settings name: Robi/any,
Homepage: http://192.168.23.4/was
GPRS access point: WAP,
IP address: 192.168.23.7,
Data bearer: GPRS,
Username & password to be kept blank.
Leave all other settings as default.
